Collin Morikawa claimed a thrilling victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, ending a two-year PGA Tour trophy drought with a decisive birdie on the final hole. The 29-year-old American finished at 22-under, narrowly edging out Australia’s Min Woo Lee and Austria’s Sepp Straka, who both closed at 21-under after a tense final round.

Morikawa’s lead appeared fragile late in the round. Leading by two with two holes to play, his advantage slipped as Lee birdied the 18th and Morikawa bogeyed the 17th. A short delay due to challenging wind conditions paused his second shot while Jacob Bridgeman played the front holes, but Morikawa calmly found the green and sank a short putt to secure a 67 for the day, sealing the win.

“It’s special for a lot of reasons,” Morikawa said after lifting the trophy. “I’ve put countless hours and nights – probably too many hours – thinking about golf. I kept believing in myself. Honestly, at the beginning of this week, it didn’t really feel like this was going to be possible.”

World number one Scottie Scheffler posted a remarkable nine-under 63, including three eagles, to briefly take the clubhouse lead at 20-under, but it wasn’t enough to match Morikawa’s late surge. Defending champion Akshay Bhatia finished with a level-par 72, ending at 19-under.

England’s Tommy Fleetwood had a chance to tie at 21-under with an eagle chip on the 18th but fell short, sharing fourth place with Scheffler. Rory McIlroy impressed with a flawless 64, featuring eight birdies, to finish at 17-under alongside England’s Matt Fitzpatrick. McIlroy, preparing for the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles, said, “All in all, some really good stuff this week. Pretty encouraged going into next week for sure.”

Morikawa’s win marks his first PGA Tour title since 2024 and highlights a strong return to form for the two-time major champion, reaffirming his status among the world’s elite golfers.
