Our Standards for Accurate, Fair and Responsible Journalism
The Pak Global is committed to providing readers with accurate, responsible and clearly attributed news and information. This Editorial Policy explains the principles and practices that guide our reporting, editing, publication and correction processes.
1. Our Editorial Principles
Our editorial work is guided by accuracy, fairness, independence, transparency, accountability and respect for individuals. We aim to distinguish verified information from analysis, commentary, opinion and user-submitted material.
Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to verify important facts before publication and to correct material errors when identified.
Fairness
We seek to present relevant perspectives fairly and avoid intentionally misleading or one-sided presentation of facts.
Independence
Editorial decisions should not be improperly influenced by advertisers, sponsors, political interests or personal relationships.
Transparency
We aim to provide clear bylines, dates, attribution and appropriate context for published material.
2. Verification and Fact-Checking
Before publishing factual news, our editorial team makes reasonable efforts to verify significant information using reliable sources. The level of verification may vary depending on the nature, urgency and availability of information.
Our verification practices may include:
- Checking information against more than one reliable source where appropriate.
- Reviewing official statements, public records and documents when available.
- Confirming names, dates, locations, figures and other important details.
- Checking the context and original source of images, videos and social media material.
- Seeking clarification or expert information when specialized knowledge is required.
Breaking news may initially be based on limited confirmed information. In such cases, the article may be updated as additional reliable information becomes available.
3. Sources and Attribution
We use information from our reporters, correspondents, official sources, public records, interviews, research institutions and reputable news organizations where appropriate.
When information is obtained from an external news organization, agency, publication, official source or other identifiable source, we aim to provide appropriate attribution.
We do not present another organization's reporting as original reporting by The Pak Global.
4. Reporters and Correspondents
The Pak Global publishes reports prepared by members of its editorial team, reporters and correspondents, as well as properly attributed material based on external sources. You can see our team on the Reporters page.
Byline information is used to identify the author or reporting source where appropriate. Some articles may use a newsroom, desk or staff byline when the material is prepared collaboratively or compiled by the editorial team.
We aim to maintain accurate author and contributor information and to avoid misleading readers about who created or reported a story.
5. News, Analysis and Opinion
We distinguish between factual news reporting, analysis and opinion wherever practical.
- News: Reports focused on verified facts, developments, statements and relevant context.
- Analysis: Content that examines events, trends or information and may include additional context or interpretation.
- Opinion: Clearly identified commentary or viewpoints that represent the author's perspective.
Opinions or interpretations should not be presented as established facts.
6. Political and Public-Interest Reporting
When covering elections, political parties, public officials, legislation, government decisions or other matters of public interest, we aim to use accurate attribution and distinguish reported facts from commentary or opinion.
Where claims are disputed, we seek to identify the relevant source of the claim and provide appropriate context. We do not intentionally conceal material information about the source, purpose or nature of political or public-interest content.
7. Headlines and Presentation
Headlines, summaries, thumbnails and other presentation elements should accurately reflect the underlying article.
We avoid intentionally misleading headlines, fabricated quotations, exaggerated claims or presentation techniques designed to create a false impression about the content of a story.
8. Images, Videos and Digital Media
We make reasonable efforts to verify the context and authenticity of images, videos and other digital material before using them in news coverage.
When an image or video is illustrative, archival, supplied by a third party or otherwise not directly connected to the specific event being discussed, we aim to provide appropriate context where necessary.
Material that has been materially altered or digitally generated should not be presented as authentic documentary evidence of an event when doing so would mislead readers.
9. Accuracy, Updates and Breaking News
News can develop after an article is published. We may update articles when new verified information becomes available, when important context changes, or when a factual error is identified.
Updates should preserve the accuracy and meaning of the original report while providing readers with relevant new information.
10. Corrections
We take factual accuracy seriously. When a material error is identified and verified, we may correct the relevant content and provide an appropriate correction or clarification.
Readers can report suspected factual errors through our Corrections Policy.
11. Privacy and Human Dignity
We consider privacy, safety and dignity when reporting on individuals, particularly children, victims of crime, vulnerable individuals and people involved in traumatic events.
Personal information is published only when there is a legitimate editorial reason and where appropriate consideration has been given to privacy and public interest.
12. Conflicts of Interest
Editorial decisions should be made independently from commercial or personal interests. Where a relevant conflict of interest could materially affect the understanding of a story, appropriate disclosure may be provided.
Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners do not receive editorial control over independent news coverage.
13. Sponsored and Commercial Content
Sponsored content, advertising, promotional material or other commercial content should be distinguishable from independent editorial reporting.
Commercial relationships should not be presented in a way that falsely suggests independent editorial endorsement.

14. User-Submitted Information
Readers, organizations and other third parties may provide information, statements, photographs, documents or news tips to our newsroom.
Submission of material does not automatically mean that it will be published. Material may be reviewed for relevance, authenticity, accuracy, legal concerns and editorial suitability before publication.
15. AI-Assisted and Digital Tools
Digital tools, including artificial intelligence and automated technologies, may be used for certain editorial or production tasks where appropriate. Such tools do not replace editorial responsibility for the accuracy and presentation of published content.
AI-generated or digitally modified material should not be presented as genuine evidence of a real event when that presentation would mislead readers.
16. Copyright and Third-Party Material
We respect copyright and intellectual property rights. Third-party quotations, images, videos and other material should be used with appropriate attribution and authorization where required.
If you believe material published on our website infringes your copyright, please contact us with sufficient information to identify the material and explain the concern.
17. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are intended to remain separate from advertising and commercial activities. Advertisers or commercial partners should not be represented as controlling independent editorial coverage unless such a relationship is expressly disclosed.
18. Accountability to Readers
We welcome reasonable feedback about factual accuracy, attribution, fairness and editorial standards.
Editorial concerns are reviewed according to their nature and available information. A complaint does not automatically require removal or alteration of an article, but verified factual errors may result in corrections or updates.
