The Pak Global Pakistan — US Ambassador Mike Huckabee has sparked widespread controversy after stating he “would be fine” if Israel expanded across most of the Middle East, citing a biblical interpretation of the land promised to the descendants of Abraham. The remark, made during an interview with podcaster Tucker Carlson, ignited strong condemnation across the Arab world, including from Saudi Arabia and the Arab League.
Huckabee later claimed that the version of his comments shared by Carlson on social media was selectively edited and did not include his full response. He emphasized the importance of truth and criticized the Arab League’s reaction, suggesting they “need a new translator.”
During the interview, Huckabee referenced Old Testament scripture to outline Israel’s potential borders, describing a territory stretching from the Euphrates River in Iraq to the Nile River in Egypt—a vast area encompassing modern-day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and parts of Saudi Arabia.
Appointed as an envoy by former President Donald Trump, Huckabee’s comments have added fuel to regional tensions amid ongoing geopolitical sensitivities regarding Israel’s borders and Middle East peace.
