Iran Reviews Diplomatic Channels to Ease Tensions with US

DUBAI (Pak Global Pakistan) – Iran is carefully reviewing various diplomatic mechanisms aimed at reducing tensions with the United States, with hopes of achieving progress in the coming days, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday.

Baghaei stated that Tehran is examining the details and frameworks of different diplomatic processes after indirect messages were exchanged through regional countries acting as intermediaries between Iran and the US.

“Several points have been shared through regional mediators. We are currently assessing the details of each diplomatic process and hope these efforts will yield results in the near future,” Baghaei said, adding that discussions are focused on the structure and process of potential talks.

The remarks come amid heightened military activity, as the US Navy increases its presence near Iranian waters. US President Donald Trump said last week that Iran was “seriously talking” with Washington, shortly after Iran’s senior security official Ali Larijani confirmed on social media platform X that arrangements for negotiations were underway.

Trump also expressed optimism about reaching a deal with Tehran, despite Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warning that any US military action could trigger a wider regional conflict.

Responding to Khamenei’s comments, Trump appeared unconcerned, saying it was expected for Iran’s leader to issue such warnings.

On Saturday, Trump again highlighted the proximity of US naval forces to Iran, describing them as the most powerful ships in the world positioned very close to the region. He reiterated that while Washington hopes for a diplomatic agreement, it is prepared for alternative outcomes if talks fail.

“Hopefully, we’ll make a deal. If not, we’ll see what happens,” Trump said.
