A group of United Nations experts has indicated that the abuses committed by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein could meet the legal definition of crimes against humanity. This statement follows the release of millions of files by the United States government related to investigations into Epstein’s criminal activities.

The independent experts, appointed by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), described the documented abuses as reflecting a disturbing pattern of dehumanization, racism, and corruption. They emphasized the grave scale, systematic nature, and international reach of these crimes, noting that many of the acts might meet the threshold for crimes against humanity under international law.

The UNHRC panel has called for a comprehensive investigation into Epstein and his associates, who include influential figures across politics, business, science, and culture. The experts highlighted that the evidence points to a “global criminal enterprise” that operated with impunity for years.

“All the allegations contained in the ‘Epstein Files’ are egregious in nature and require independent, thorough, and impartial investigation, as well as inquiries to determine how such crimes could have taken place for so long,” the experts stated.
